Neeharika Burgul MHC-I

Neeharika has always had a deep fascination with the intricacies of the human mind, behavior, and the potential of the medical field to make a positive impact on people's lives. This curiosity inspired her to pursue a career in medicine and become a doctor. During her clinical rotations at rural and primary healthcare centers, she observed a concerning lack of awareness about mental health and the stigma attached to those experiencing mental illness. This experience ignited a passionate desire to assist individuals with their mental health struggles and to advocate for the importance of mental well-being, thus setting her on the path to becoming a mental Health Counselor. Presently, Neeharika is working towards a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at LIU Post. She strongly believes that the counseling relationship between a counselor and client hinges on trust, confidentiality, and mutual respect, providing a safe space for clients to share theirthoughts, concerns, and hopes freely. She aspires to foster a collaborative environment where clients feel valued, understood, and empowered to explore new perspectives, challenge self-limiting beliefs, and develop strategies to overcome obstacles. Neeharika has always held the belief that mental health is a crucial facet of overall well-being and is eager to support herclients in achieving it.
